Then we have the three Stain children siding up with Baskania-even then hardly any explanation as to why this Baskania should choose to side with children-I mean, seriously? When he gets there he accidentally runs into baskina and he has to call dragons for help. Many will go with it undisturbed. If I had to change anything at all about this audio book, it would be the reader. This is a good solid middle-grade reader book and a good choice for reluctant readers. It's finally coming out February 7th! It's easy to become involved with the story and care about the characters. Harry is constantly assailed with doubts and while Erec has his weaknesses, they are not the same as Harry's by any stretch of the imagination. However, the series is quite different. I need to stress that despite what some reviewers have said, Erec Rex is not Harry Potter in any way. I found myself with more questions than I started with and most of them were different questions! This book is simply amazing. There was more mystery in this book th I recently read The Monsters of Otherness by Kaza Kingsley. One of my favorite things about Erec Rex is that he's got his fair share of embarrassing problems. It just thrills me to the bones.
